Clamped saddles mount directly onto existing pipe systems without removing a pipe section. The pipe surface and saddle are cleaned, and PVC cement or silicone sealant is applied to the saddle and pipe. The saddle is secured to the pipe using the included stainless steel hose clamps. Once installed and cured, the saddle serves as drilling guide. A 1½” hole saw (not included) is used to bore the opening through the pipe. Saddles mount to schedule 40 and schedule 80 pipes ranging in size from 1 and 1/2" to 8". The saddle is specific to the pipe size and schedule. For example, a saddle for a 3" schedule 40 pipe will not work on a 3" schedule 80 pipe. Meter heads, whether pipe mounted or detached display, can be field programmed to any specific saddle size. Saddles are added as an option when ordering the meter heads or can be purchased separately.
