Why MIC Meter?

For over 30 years, we have helped customers solve their water flow measurement needs. Whether adhering to governmental water-usage requirements, maximizing water efficiency, reducing operational costs for your business, determining maintenance schedules of components in a water system, or fulfilling your personal water conservation values, MIC meters provide a reliable solution across a wide range of applications.

Accuracy & Repeatability

The dimensionally critical components of our paddle wheel meters are precision machined to maintain consistent dimensions from meter to meter. This manufacturing approach helps ensure reliable and repeatable performance.

Each meter is functionally tested prior to shipment to verify proper operation.

It is important to note that installation conditions can affect flow measurement performance. Plumbing components such as elbows, valves, and other flow disturbances may influence the meter’s readings. Please refer to our installation guidelines for recommended pipe configurations.

Paddle wheel flow meters provide dependable flow measurement for many applications at a practical cost. For applications requiring extremely tight accuracy specifications, other flow measurement technologies may be more appropriate.

In some applications, repeatability is often more important than accuracy, allowing the meter to reliably indicate changes in system performance. MIC meters can monitor changes or trends in flow over time, such as daily or weekly variations. In these cases, repeatability is the needed function of the meter, not flow rate accuracy.

For example, an aquarium system can be monitored by installing a MIC meter. An operator records the daily flow reading and compares it to the previous day's value. A decline in the flow rate will often indicate an emerging issue. Catching the problem early - by checking filters and other system components - can prevent the loss of product or aquatic life.
